Zelensky Announces Energy Sector Redesign Amid Corruption Scandal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a redesign of public energy sector enterprises, including Energoatom, following a major corruption scandal.
The Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) uncovered a "criminal scheme" involving the embezzlement of $100 million. This led to the resignation of the Ministers of Justice and Energy.
A new supervisory board will be established at Energoatom within a week. A "full audit" of the financial activities of the companies will be conducted, along with a renewal of their leadership.
Zelensky ordered continuous communication with law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies.
Russia has launched a campaign with missiles and drones, causing power outages in Ukraine. The latest bombing in Kyiv resulted in the death of seven people.
