Zakharova on Trump's Sanctions: 'We Have Developed Immunity'

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that EU sanctions against Moscow are working against the EU itself. Regarding the sanctions announced by Donald Trump, Zakharova said they do not pose a particular problem for Russia, as the country has developed 'strong immunity' to Western restrictions.
Zakharova also referred to the 19th package of sanctions approved by the 27 EU countries, stressing that the possibilities for further expansion of the sanctions have largely been exhausted. Moscow reserves the right to respond accordingly, taking into account the interests of the Russian Federation.
EU countries officially approved the 19th package of sanctions against Russia for the war in Ukraine, which includes a gradual ban on imports of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG). The ban will take effect in two stages, with long-term contracts expiring on January 1, 2027.
The new sanctions package also includes a mechanism to restrict the movement of Russian diplomats within the EU and targets Russian banks, cryptocurrency exchanges, and entities in India and China.
