Christodoulides: 'The Sky's the Limit' in Cyprus-UAE Relations

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, stated that 'the sky's the limit' in Cyprus-UAE relations during his meeting with the UAE's Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Lana Nusseibeh, at the Presidential Palace.
President Christodoulides expressed a political commitment to further strengthening relations, recognizing the UAE as the most reliable partner in the Gulf. He thanked them for their support in the 'Amalthea' humanitarian initiative and for providing desalination units during difficult times.
Ms. Nusseibeh visited Cyprus ahead of Cyprus's assumption of the EU Council Presidency, emphasizing Cyprus's role as an 'ambassador' in Brussels. The possibility of substantial EU-region relations was discussed, with an emphasis on economy, investments, and tourism. President Christodoulides looks forward to welcoming the UAE President.
Ms. Nusseibeh praised Cyprus's work in supporting Gaza and described it as an ideal location for reconstruction efforts. She also mentioned the importance of collective security and stable development in Gaza.
Commenting on bilateral relations, Ms. Nusseibeh said that 'space is the limit,' expressing the UAE's support for the Cypriot EU presidency and the pursuit of an EU-UAE free trade agreement. Furthermore, she referred to cooperation in energy, technology, artificial intelligence, and water scarcity.
Finally, Ms. Nusseibeh stressed the need for a stable geopolitical environment and joint action on regional issues.
