Houthis Claim Responsibility for Missile Launch Towards Israel

Yemen's Houthi rebels confirmed they launched a ballistic missile towards Israel, reacting to alleged “crimes” against Palestinians in Gaza.

Sirens sounded in Israel following the launch. The army reported a possible successful interception.

Houthi military spokesman Yahia Sarea stated the missile targeted a sensitive target in Beersheba, in solidarity with Palestinians and in response to attacks in Gaza. “The operation achieved its goal,” he said.

This is the first announced missile launch by the Houthis against Israel since the June 24 ceasefire.

The Houthi spokesman stated that attacks will continue “until the aggression against Gaza stops and the siege of the enclave is lifted.”
