North Korea Dismantles Propaganda Loudspeakers at Border

Following South Korea, North Korea has begun dismantling propaganda loudspeakers along the border. South Korea's Ministry of Defense announced that it detected North Korean soldiers dismantling the loudspeakers, following a similar move by Seoul.
This is the first such statement from South Korea since President Lee Jae-myung took office. The Lee administration has halted propaganda broadcasts via loudspeakers in an effort to de-escalate tensions with Pyongyang.
"It remains to be confirmed whether these devices are being removed from all areas. The military will continue to monitor related activities," the South Korean military said in a statement.
The two countries of the Korean Peninsula remain technically at war after the end of the Korean War (1950-1953) with an armistice, not a peace treaty.
