Countries of the "Coalition of the Willing" for Ukraine will hold a video conference ahead of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Washington. The video conference will take place tomorrow, Sunday, at 16:00 (Greek time).

The meeting will be co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

In a joint statement, European leaders welcomed the effort by US President Donald Trump to proceed with talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stressing that the goal remains "to end the killings in Ukraine, end the Russian war of aggression, and achieve a just and lasting peace."

In the statement co-signed by Emmanuel Macron, Giorgia Meloni, Friedrich Merz, Keir Starmer, Alexander Stubb, Donald Tusk, Antonio Costa, and Ursula von der Leyen, Trump informed both European leaders and Zelensky about the content of his meeting with Putin.

The Europeans are in favor of a trilateral meeting of Trump – Zelensky – Putin, with the support of Europe, while conveying that Ukraine must receive "ironclad" security guarantees to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The joint statement reiterates that only Ukraine can decide on its territory and that international borders cannot be changed by force.
