Venezuela: Protests Demand Maduro's Return

Thousands of government supporters protested in Caracas, demanding the return of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, who are being held in the United States. The protest took place one month after the American military operation that led to Maduro's capture.
The protesters, many of whom were civil servants, held pictures of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, chanting slogans in favor of his return.
Interim President Delcy RodrĂguez, despite efforts to improve relations with the United States, continues to demand Maduro's release. RodrĂguez met with the new head of the American diplomatic mission, Laura Dogu, discussing the "transition" in Venezuela.
Dogu stated that she discussed with RodrĂguez the three phases proposed by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio: stabilization, economic recovery and reconciliation, and transition.
