Trump: 'Harsh Response if Iran Blocks Strait of Hormuz'

US President Donald Trump warned Iran that it would face a '20 times harsher' response if it attempts to disrupt the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post, Trump stated that the United States would react immediately to any attempt by Tehran to block the passage of oil shipments through the strategically important sea route.

'If Iran does anything that would stop oil from flowing through the Strait of Hormuz, it will be hit by the United States of America twenty times harder than it has ever been hit before,' he stated.

Trump escalated his rhetoric, warning of 'Death, Fire, and Fury' in the event of escalation, claiming that the US could make it 'almost impossible' for Iran to rebuild.

He also described his warning as a 'gift' to China and other countries that use the Strait of Hormuz to transport energy resources, expressing hope that this stance would be appreciated.
