US President Donald Trump has called on major oil companies to invest in Venezuela's energy reserves following recent political developments. The meeting at the White House included companies such as Eni and Repsol.

Trump assured the safety of investments, amounting to at least $100 billion, under Washington's control. However, ExxonMobil CEO Darren Woods expressed reservations due to previous asset seizures. In contrast, Chevron appeared more positive.

Venezuela has the world's largest crude oil reserves, but production is limited due to lack of investment and US sanctions. Washington is also in talks with interim president Delsy Rodriguez.
