According to the US State Department, Israel requested the purchase of 12,000 BLU-110A/B general-purpose bombs, weighing 1,000 pounds, at a cost exceeding $151 million.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio justified the decision, stating that there is an emergency requiring the immediate sale for US national security.

This move comes amid ongoing military operations against Iran.
