Trump Intervenes on Khashoggi Question, Defends Bin Salman

Donald Trump intervened on a journalist's question regarding the murder of Jamal Khashoggi during a visit by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Trump called Khashoggi "highly controversial" and argued that the question was intended to embarrass Bin Salman. He also said that Bin Salman knew nothing about the murder.

Trump's stance contrasts with the Biden administration, which released a report in 2021 concluding that Bin Salman approved the order to kill Khashoggi. Bin Salman himself stated that it was painful to hear that someone loses their life for no reason and that Saudi Arabia took the right steps in the investigation.

Trump also criticized the journalist who asked the question, saying they were from ABC, "one of the worst."
