Trump: Economic War with Russia if No Solution in Ukraine

Donald Trump stated that he is ready for an "economic war" with Russia if there is no progress in resolving the conflict in Ukraine. In statements during a cabinet meeting, he emphasized that he is only considering economic measures against Russia, as "we do not want World War III."

Trump did not rule out exerting pressure on Ukraine, saying that "Zelensky is not entirely innocent." Meanwhile, White House special envoy Steve Witkoff gave a new date for resolving the war in Ukraine, December 31, 2025, and described Trump as "the best candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize in history."
