The Turkish Foreign Ministry has accused Greece of attempting to impose its 'maximalist claims' on the European Union during the recent Summit in Brussels. Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesperson Öncü Keçeli stated that Turkey will not allow the violation of its legitimate rights and interests in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry maintains that the 2019 Turkey-Libya memorandum is in accordance with international law and called on the EU to urge its members to comply with international law.

In its statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that the actions of Greece and the Republic of Cyprus disrupt regional peace and stability.
