Turkey: US Consulate in Adana Ordered to Evacuate

The State Department has ordered the precautionary evacuation of non-essential personnel and their families from the US Consulate in Adana, due to increased tensions related to the US-Israel-Iran conflict.

Travel advisories have also been updated, urging citizens to avoid southeastern Turkey.

According to the announcement, the instructions apply to US government employees and their family members serving at the city's consulate.

The NATO base Incirlik, located in Adana, is considered a potential target.

The travel advisory level for southeastern Turkey has been raised to "do not travel".

US authorities emphasize that the safety of American citizens is a priority.
