At Least 87 Dead in Iranian Corvette Sinking

At least 87 sailors have been recovered dead following the sinking of an Iranian corvette in the Indian Ocean, near the coast of Sri Lanka. The search continues for 61 missing sailors of the Iranian Navy.
According to statements by Sri Lankan officials, the bodies were recovered after the shipwreck. A total of 32 Iranian sailors have been rescued so far.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth confirmed that an American submarine sank the Iranian corvette with a torpedo. The ship was returning from an exercise to which it had been invited by India.
