Thailand has accused Cambodia of violating the ceasefire agreement, despite it having taken effect at 00:00 local time. According to Thai army deputy spokesman Rittichai Suksuwon, incidents were reported in the Phu Makua area, leading to an exchange of fire that continued into the morning. Clashes also occurred in the Sam Tat area.

The ceasefire was agreed upon after peace talks in Malaysia, aimed at ending the conflicts along the Thailand-Cambodia border, which have caused deaths and displacements. Thailand's acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai downplayed the reported violations and stated that he spoke with the Cambodian Defense Minister.

Maly Socheata, a spokesman for the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense, reported that there were no clashes along the border after the agreement.
