Trump's Peace Council Convenes: Participation and Division in Europe

The Peace Council formed by US President Donald Trump is holding its first meeting today in Washington. The agenda includes issues such as the disarmament of Hamas and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
The meeting is attended by 47 countries and the European Union as an observer. Speeches will be given by Trump, Marco Rubio, and Tony Blair. According to the White House, commitments of $5 billion for Gaza and the deployment of troops for a stabilization force are expected.
One of the key issues is who will negotiate with Hamas and the distribution of humanitarian aid. The Council's mission is to guarantee lasting peace in conflict-affected areas.
Some leaders have been accused of authoritarian tendencies, while countries such as Brazil, India, and Mexico have not accepted the invitation. Europe is divided, with some countries participating as observers.
