A meeting between Marshal Khalifa Haftar and the head of Turkish intelligence, Ibrahim Kalin, signals a new phase in Turkish-Libyan relations. The meeting follows the docking of a Turkish warship in Benghazi and reports of granting seismic research rights to Turkish companies in maritime areas from Libya to Crete.

According to TürkiyeGazetesi, regional developments, military cooperation, maritime security, and exchange of expertise were discussed. The General Command of the Libyan National Army described the contacts as evidence of the historical ties between the two countries.

Greek diplomacy is monitoring developments, as there is a possibility of ratification of the Turkish-Libyan memorandum by the Libyan House of Representatives. Greece and Cyprus are called upon to manage the situation calmly, taking into account Turkey's growing influence in the region.

Turkish media interpret the meeting as an attempt to deepen military ties and strengthen regional stability.
