European leaders, US President Donald Trump, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the prospect of a peace agreement for Ukraine in an online summit. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz emphasized that Ukraine is ready for negotiations, but the recognition of Russian territories is not up for discussion.

Zelensky expressed hope for a ceasefire and warned that Putin is 'bluffing.' Ursula von der Leyen mentioned the strengthening of the common front between Europe, the US, and NATO for Ukraine. Emmanuel Macron stated that Trump desires a ceasefire, while Mark Rutte emphasized that 'the ball is now in Russia's court.'

The leaders agreed on the need for strong security guarantees for Ukraine and emphasized that negotiations should be part of a transatlantic strategy.
