Gaza-Bound Flotilla Returns to Barcelona Due to Strong Winds

A flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, with hundreds of activists including Greta Thunberg, has returned to Barcelona due to strong winds. Approximately 20 ships departed on Sunday, aiming to create a humanitarian corridor.

Organizers stated that the decision was made for the safety of participants, due to strong winds exceeding 55 km/h. Spanish media reported that a meeting will be held to decide whether to continue the mission.

Among the activists were Greta Thunberg, actors Liam Cunningham and Eduard Fernández, Members of the European Parliament, and former Mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau. The flotilla was expected to reach Gaza in mid-September.
