Russia: Suspects Confess to Attempted Assassination of Russian General

The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) announced that suspects in the attempted assassination of Russian General Vladimir Alekseyev confessed to carrying out orders from Ukraine.
Ukraine has denied any involvement in the assassination attempt on Alekseyev. According to the FSB, Lyubomir Korba, a Russian citizen born in Ukraine, and Viktor Vasin were interrogated and confessed their guilt.
The FSB claims that the two men were recruited by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). Korba was allegedly recruited in August 2025 and trained in Kyiv, receiving payments in cryptocurrencies. He was promised $30,000 for the assassination of Alekseyev.
Furthermore, the FSB reports that Polish intelligence services were involved in the recruitment of the perpetrator.
Vladimir Alekseyev is the first deputy chief of the head of the GRU, General Igor Kostyukov.
