A Russian military court has sentenced 15 individuals to life imprisonment for their involvement in the Crocus City Hall attack in March 2024, which resulted in the deaths of 150 people and injuries to over 600. The attack was carried out by armed individuals who stormed a concert hall and opened fire on the crowd before setting the building ablaze.

According to the Russian state news agency TASS, four of those sentenced are Tajik nationals, while the remaining 11 are considered accomplices. Additionally, four other defendants received prison sentences ranging from 19 to 22 years, according to RIA.

In total, 19 people were charged in connection with the attack, which was claimed by the Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISIS-K). The trial was held behind closed doors.

Moscow had accused Ukraine of involvement in the attack, a claim that Kyiv has vehemently denied. Following the attack, Russia tightened its anti-immigration laws and rhetoric, causing tensions with Central Asian countries.
