Airbus Chairman Calls for Joint European Nuclear Deterrence Program

Airbus Chairman René Obermann has called on European countries to agree on a joint nuclear deterrence program, arguing it is the 'answer' to Russia's Iskander missiles.
According to Reuters, Obermann stated at the Berlin Security Conference that Russia is threatening Europe with over 500 tactical nuclear warheads on Iskander 26 missiles, located in Kaliningrad and Belarus.
Obermann suggested that Germany, France, Britain, and other willing European member states should agree on a joint and gradual nuclear deterrence program, including at the tactical level.
A NATO official responded that the alliance has not seen a change in Russia's nuclear posture.
