Putin to Trump: 'Russia Will Not Succumb to Pressure'
Share on:

Vladimir Putin has declared that Russia will not succumb to US pressure, despite potential economic impacts from new sanctions. India and China are reportedly reducing imports of Russian oil following the Trump administration's sanctions on energy giants Rosneft and Lukoil.

Putin described the sanctions as an unfriendly act and reiterated that no self-respecting country acts under pressure. He admitted that some losses are expected, while urging Trump to consider who his government is working for.

Putin warned of an 'overwhelming' response if Russia is attacked with Tomahawk missiles. Trump imposed the sanctions due to frustration with Moscow's stance on the war in Ukraine, canceling a meeting with Putin in Budapest. Putin remains open to talks, noting that dialogue is always better than war.
