Pistorius: Baltic Sea is Putin's Testing Ground

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that the Baltic Sea is a "testing ground" for Vladimir Putin and warned about the increasing threat from Russia.
At the Berlin Security Conference, Pistorius described hybrid attacks as a "strategy" and "harbingers," referring to damaged cables, airspace violations, and drone overflights.
He also signed an agreement with his Swedish counterpart, Paul Jonsson, to intensify bilateral cooperation in security and defense.
The Swedish Defense Minister described the Memorandum of Understanding as a "milestone" and emphasized the shared responsibility of the two countries for the security of the Baltic Sea and Europe.
German and Swedish officials stressed the need to strengthen defense readiness and address hybrid threats.
German NATO General Ingo Gerhartz called on Germany to intensify its efforts to deter a potential Russian attack.
