Legendary War Correspondent Peter Arnett Dies

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and war correspondent Peter Arnett has died at the age of 91 after battling prostate cancer.
Arnett became known for his coverage of the Vietnam War for the Associated Press, winning the Pulitzer Prize in 1966. Later, in 1991, he broadcast live for CNN from Iraq during the first Gulf War, while most Western journalists had left.
During his career, Arnett secured controversial interviews with Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden.
In 2003, he was fired from NBC and National Geographic for criticizing the U.S. military strategy in an interview with Iraqi state television.
He died in Newport Beach, surrounded by friends and family.
