Russian air defenses shot down dozens of Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles heading towards Moscow on Sunday night. Two of the Russian capital's four airports were closed for security reasons.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that air defenses shot down 28 enemy drones. The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) suspended operations at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports. There were no reports of damage.

Kyiv has stated that its attacks aim to destroy infrastructure deemed vital to Russia's military operations in Ukraine.
