A shocking survival story emerges from the Ukrainian front. A 33-year-old Ukrainian soldier, Vladislav, survived for five days after Russian soldiers cut his throat and threw him into a pit, presuming him dead.

According to Suspilne, Vladislav managed to climb out of the pit and crawled to Ukrainian lines near Dnipropetrovsk. He was found in critical condition on August 17 and taken to a hospital.

Medical personnel reported that they had never seen such injuries. Serhii Ryzhenko, the hospital director, stated that the chances of survival in such cases are minimal.

Vladislav recorded his story in a diary. His unit had lost a position near Pokrovsk. In his testimony, he describes horrific acts of violence against Ukrainian prisoners.

The Ukrainian prosecutor's office has recorded at least 273 cases of executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian forces, violating the Geneva Conventions.
