Ukraine: Russian Bombardments and Casualties in Kherson

Russian bombardments continue in Ukraine, causing casualties and damage to energy infrastructure. An 81-year-old woman was killed in Kherson, while areas in southern Ukraine have been left without power.
According to initial reports, Russian artillery bombarded Kherson around 04:45 local time, resulting in the death of the 81-year-old woman and the injury of a 53-year-old woman. Additionally, a 56-year-old man was injured in a drone attack in the city center.
The governor of Poltava, in central Ukraine, announced that a Russian drone attack damaged an energy sector facility, leading to temporary power outages. Similar outages were also reported in the city of Sumy, where a Russian attack hit critical infrastructure.
The Ukrainian Air Force announced that it shot down 74 of the 95 drones launched by Russian forces. The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy reported that energy facilities have been attacked 2,900 times since March 2025.
In the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, 15 people were evacuated from their homes due to a fire caused by debris from a Ukrainian drone. Russian air defense systems shot down 26 Ukrainian drones, including 15 over the Rostov region.
