Three people were killed in Sumy and five were injured in Kyiv in Russian airstrikes, according to Ukrainian authorities.
In Sumy, a Russian drone struck a bus, killing three people. In Kyiv, a Russian airstrike resulted in five injuries and damage to an apartment building, announced military regional administrator Timur Tkachenko.
Russian forces have intensified drone and missile strikes against Ukrainian cities in recent weeks. Simultaneously, Kyiv is escalating attacks on Russian territory.
In the region of Saint Petersburg, a man died in a fire caused by drone debris, while three others were injured, according to regional governor Alexander Drozdenko.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has proposed talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to end the war, but the Kremlin appears hesitant.
The two sides maintain diametrically opposed positions, with Russia demanding the cession of the four regions it has annexed, as well as Crimea, which Kyiv rejects.
