Ukraine: Sniper Neutralizes Russians from 4 km, Setting New Record

A Ukrainian soldier has broken the world sniper record by neutralizing two Russian soldiers with a single shot from a distance of 4 kilometers, according to a statement by the Ukrainian military.
The shot was fired near the city of Pokrovsk, in the Donetsk region, last Thursday, August 14, by a member of the special unit «Pryvyd». It was recorded on video published by Yuri Butusov.
According to the New York Post, the shot was fired with a Ukrainian-made «Alligator» rifle with a caliber of 14.5 mm and was guided with the help of artificial intelligence and unmanned aerial vehicles. The new performance is considered the longest shooting distance in the history of war conflicts, surpassing the previous record of 3,800 meters by a Ukrainian sniper in 2023.
Previously, in 2017, a member of Joint Task Force 2 of the Canadian Armed Forces set a record distance of 3,540 meters in Afghanistan.
The «Alligator» rifle has an initial projectile velocity ranging from 980 to 1,000 meters per second.
