Netherlands Bans Entry to Israeli Ministers Over Gaza War

The Netherlands has banned entry to two Israeli ministers, Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, due to the situation in Gaza. Foreign Minister Kaspar Veldkamp announced that the two ministers are now considered 'persona non grata' in the Netherlands, accusing them of inciting violence and supporting the expansion of Jewish settlements.

In addition, the Netherlands announced restrictions on arms exports to Israel and an increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza. Prime Minister Dick Schoof informed Israeli President Isaac Herzog of the measures, with Herzog calling the Dutch decisions a 'HUGE mistake'.

Veldkamp also summoned the Israeli ambassador to the Netherlands to discuss the situation in Gaza and Israel's obligations under international law.
