Alassane Ouattara has been re-elected as President of the Ivory Coast in the first round of elections. Former Minister of Commerce, Jean-Louis Billon, conceded defeat, acknowledging Ouattara's victory.

Preliminary results indicate that Ouattara secured percentages often exceeding 90% in certain regions, with turnout approaching 100% in his strongholds. In the southern and western provinces, where participation was lower, Ouattara still leads in votes.

The President of the Independent Electoral Commission, Ibrahim Kuibiert Coulibaly, estimates that nationwide participation will reach approximately 50%. Aggregate results are expected in the coming days.
