Seven people, including three children, have been killed in a drone strike in the town of Dilling, South Kordofan State, South Sudan, according to medical sources.

Thirteen other people were injured and taken to Dilling hospital. The attack comes amid ongoing clashes between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The regular army had regained control of Dilling in January, ending a long siege by the RSF. The paramilitaries have now focused on the Kordofan region, after seizing El Fasher in Darfur.

The Sudanese Foreign Ministry condemned the RSF's attacks on civilians and infrastructure in the cities of Dilling, El Obeid, and Kosti.

The war in Sudan, which began on April 15, 2023, has caused a severe humanitarian crisis, with tens of thousands dead and millions displaced.

Both sides are accused of war crimes, including attacks against civilians and the use of sexual violence.
