Six months after Trump's rise to power, the international landscape is fluid and uncertain. The US, once a pillar of stability, has become a factor of instability, affecting the interests of Greece and Cyprus.

Turkish expansionist policies create existential problems, while the good relations between Erdogan and Trump and Turkey's geopolitical upgrade exacerbate the situation. Greek foreign policy is considered unreliable, with cold relations with the US and diplomatic isolation.

The alignment of Greece and Cyprus with anti-Russian positions in the Ukrainian issue has not yielded benefits, while the Cyprus issue has not been presented as a matter of invasion and occupation. Allies are silent on the Turkish occupation of Cyprus.

In the Cyprus issue, the discussion on Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) and the opening of roadblocks has not yielded results. Those who consider the Cyprus issue a difference between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots ignore the role of Turkey, which seeks control of the entire Cyprus.

In today's geopolitical situation, a new strategy is needed in the Cyprus issue and Greek-Turkish relations, as well as a reversal of political, cultural and moral decline. Greece and Cyprus must become serious states with a multifaceted foreign policy.

A new strategy shaped by the citizens is needed, leading to a normal state with guaranteed rights for all. Athens and Nicosia must exploit the geopolitical balances to force Turkey to accept a normal state in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Greek foreign policy is at a difficult turning point and the Cyprus issue is at a dead end. Bold steps and reflective adjustments are needed.
