Greek PM Highlights Start of Talks With Libya Over EEZ

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis highlighted the start of talks with Libya to delimit maritime zones in a Facebook post on Sunday. He also referred to his government's decision to purchase a fourth frigate from Naval Group.
The Greek leader's post began with a reference to an agreement between Athens and the Tripoli-based Government of National Unity (GNU) to start talks on the sensitive issue of drawing maritime zones between the two countries.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized that the start of the delimitation process with Libya comes just 24 hours after the formalization of the participation of the US company Chevron in an international tender for four offshore blocks south of Crete and the Peloponnese.
Referring to the purchase of the fourth FDI HN (Belharra) frigate from Naval Group, Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that it further strengthens the country's defense capabilities amidst geopolitical turbulence.
The government's approval for the acquisition of a fourth frigate from the French shipyard is expected to be ratified in Parliament.
