The Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, was the target of a "massive" Russian missile attack in the early hours, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. Strikes were reported on buildings, prompting the immediate mobilization of emergency services.
Vitali Klitschko stated via Telegram that "a massive attack on the capital is still in progress," after earlier reporting strikes against infrastructure "with ballistic missiles." Apartment buildings and other structures were hit on both banks of the Dnieper River.
The head of the capital's military administration, Timur Tkachenko, stated that strikes were recorded on a residence and two apartment buildings. There is no immediate information on casualties or the extent of the damage.
