US Fighter Jet and Helicopter Crash in South China Sea

A MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter and an F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet of the US Navy crashed in the South China Sea on Sunday. The accidents occurred in separate incidents.
The helicopter, which was conducting a 'routine operation' from the aircraft carrier Nimitz, crashed first. All three occupants were rescued. About half an hour later, the fighter jet, which had also taken off from the USS Nimitz, crashed in the same area. The two crew members managed to eject from the aircraft and were rescued.
'All personnel involved are safe and in stable condition,' the US Pacific Fleet said, adding that the causes of the accidents are under investigation. The incident occurred while US President Donald Trump is on a tour of Asia.
