Machado Offered Her Nobel Peace Prize to Trump – Acceptance Unknown

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado offered U.S. President Donald Trump her Nobel Peace Prize, awarded to her in December, during a luncheon at the White House.
According to Machado's statements, she presented the medal to Trump in recognition of his commitment to Venezuelan freedom, drawing a historical parallel with SimĂłn BolĂvar. It is unknown whether Trump accepted the medal.
The White House confirmed that Trump made a “realistic assessment” of popular support for Machado but did not mention a timeline for elections in Venezuela. Machado seeks to secure a role in the governance of her country.
It is recalled that the Norwegian Nobel Committee has clarified that the prize is neither donated nor transferred.
