Macron: European Security is a Common Interest

French President Emmanuel Macron, in a post on X, stressed that the security of all Europeans is a common interest, referring to the recent attacks in Cyprus.

Macron is in Cyprus for a trilateral meeting with the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

"We immediately took solidarity measures towards Cyprus, which was attacked by multiple drones and missiles," he stated.

The French President also announced the deployment of the Languedoc frigate and a Mistral anti-aircraft defense unit in the area, as well as the presence of the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier near Cyprus.

Before returning to Paris, Macron will visit the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier for an update.
