Libya: 1,500 Undocumented Migrants Arrested Near Tripoli

Libyan authorities have arrested 1,500 undocumented migrants in an operation near Tripoli. The operation comes as the flow of migrants to Crete via Libya continues.
According to the Libyan Minister of Labor, the workers, mainly from Egypt and sub-Saharan African countries, did not have residence permits, passports, or health certificates. Their accommodations did not meet basic standards.
Those arrested were transferred to special centers and will be deported. Another 126 migrants arrived in Crete via Libya. The Greek government continues to implement the island's decongestion plan.
