Lavrov Urges US to Abandon the Language of Ultimatums

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has called on the United States to abandon the 'language of ultimatums' to facilitate a return to negotiations. The statement was made during a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi.
According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov expressed hope that efforts to de-escalate tensions would bear fruit, which would be achieved by the US abandoning ultimatums and returning to diplomacy.
The two ministers also discussed the need to stop 'illegal attacks' against political infrastructure, such as the Bushehr nuclear power plant, where Russians are working.
