Lavrov: NATO's defense spending increase leads to collapse

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that NATO's decision to increase its defense spending could lead to the alliance's collapse.
According to the Russian state news agency TASS, Lavrov stressed that NATO «must be guided by common sense». NATO members agreed to increase defense spending to 5% of their GDP by 2035.
Responding to statements by the Polish Foreign Minister regarding a potential arms race, Lavrov expressed his belief that a «catastrophic increase in the budget of NATO countries» could lead to the organization's collapse.
