Kremlin: Budapest Chosen for Putin-Trump Summit Due to Orbán's Good Relations

The Kremlin stated today that Budapest was chosen as the location for the upcoming summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump because Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has good relations with both leaders.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Orbán has warm relations with Trump and very constructive relations with Putin, which significantly contributed to reaching an agreement for the meeting.
Orbán has repeatedly criticized Western support for Ukraine and stated earlier this year that Russia has already won the war in Ukraine.
Peskov said that preparations for the summit are just beginning, with the aim of promoting a solution to the Ukrainian conflict and developing relations between Russia and the USA. Source: ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ
