Colombia: Center-Left Wins Legislative Elections

The ruling coalition of center-left and left-wing parties, Pacto Histórico (Historical Pact) of President Gustavo Petro, prevailed in the legislative elections held in Colombia.

With almost 95% of the ballots counted, the coalition is ahead of the right in the elections for both the House and the Senate.

This victory is considered significant ahead of the presidential elections on May 31st.

Mr. Petro, a former far-left rebel, also won the previous elections.
