Colombia: Far-Right Candidate Promises Airstrikes Against Drug Traffickers

The far-right candidate for the presidential elections in Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella, has pledged airstrikes against drug cartels within 90 days of taking office. He intends to seek support from the USA and Israel.
From Bogota, the self-proclaimed "Tiger" stated that he will implement a "shock plan" to regain control of areas held by rebels and drug traffickers. Colombia is the world's leading producer of cocaine.
De la Espriella is a friend of former president Álvaro Uribe. Polls indicate a close race with leftist candidate Iván Cepeda.
