China and Armenia Establish Strategic Partnership

China and Armenia have established a strategic partnership, according to Chinese state television.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan agreed that Beijing and Yerevan should strongly support each other and deepen their cooperation at all levels.
Leaders from 20 Eurasian countries, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, are in China for the two-day Summit.
Some leaders, including Iranian Masoud Pezeshkian and President Putin, have been invited to stay in China until Wednesday to attend Beijing's grand military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
This year's Summit is described as the largest since the establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, amid multiple crises directly affecting its members.
These include the trade dispute between the United States and China and India, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and the dispute over Iran's nuclear program.
