Israeli Media: Kurdish Fighters Enter Iran – Alliance with US Possible

According to Israeli media, thousands of Kurdish fighters from Iraqi Kurdistan-based organizations have launched a ground attack in Iran, opening a new front against the regime in Tehran. i24news.tv reports that the Kurdish fighters are linked to the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK).
An official from the Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan (CPFIK) stated that the military movements began on March 2nd. Iranian forces reportedly evacuated the city of Mariwan on March 3rd, taking up defensive positions.
PJAK has two armed wings, YRK and HPJ, modeled after Kurdish formations in Syria. Reports suggest that Washington is considering working with Kurdish groups to put pressure on Iran, a claim denied by the White House.
Axios reported that US President Donald Trump spoke with Kurdish leaders in Iraq about the Israel-Iran conflict. The Wall Street Journal reported that the Trump administration is open to supporting armed groups inside Iran.
The CPFIK official stated that Kurdish factions are ready to cooperate with the US and Israel.
