The Israeli Justice Ministry does not recommend granting a pardon to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is on trial for corruption. According to Israeli media reports, the Department of Pardons has completed its legal memorandum regarding the pardon request.

The final decision rests with the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog. Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu, who was assigned to manage the bureaucratic process, stated that the request requires further consideration by the president.

According to the Ynet website, the Department of Pardons assessed that it is difficult to grant a pardon, as the trial is ongoing and Netanyahu does not admit guilt or express remorse. Reports indicate that United States President Donald Trump has pressured Herzog to grant the pardon.
