Israel to Join Trump's 'Peace Council'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel will join U.S. President Donald Trump's 'peace council.' The announcement was made during Netanyahu's visit to Washington, where he met with Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Following his meeting with Rubio, Netanyahu stated via X that he had 'signed Israel's admission as a member of the ‘Peace Council.’'
A UN Security Council resolution, adopted in mid-November 2025, authorized this council and cooperating countries to form the so-called international stabilization force (ISF) expected to be deployed in the Gaza Strip, where a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has been in effect since October 10, based on Trump's plan.
The first meeting of this body is scheduled for next Thursday, February 19, in Washington and will address the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
Many countries have reacted with reservations to Donald Trump's initiative, expressing concerns about potentially undermining the UN.
According to APE-MPE, Israel's attack on the Gaza Strip, in retaliation for the Hamas raid on October 7, 2023, has caused a humanitarian crisis and internally displaced the region's population.
